INTERNATIONAL 3-18 At Least 170 Skiers Die In Austria Tunnel Fire At least 170 people were killed above the Alpine village of Kaprun near Salzburg as the cable car they were taking to a glacier ski run stalled inside a mountain tunnel and burst into flames, the provincial governor said. Rescue workers said many bodies were so badly charred that it may take days to identify the victims. Six Americans, including a family of four with two children, were missing from a group of 23 skiers from an American military base in Germany, The Associated Press reported, but it was not clear whether they were among those who died.
