Menard Maxwell Gerald Davis (d. 23 Mayıs 1973), bilindiği sahne adıyla Maxwell, Amerikalı şarkıcı, söz yazarı, müzisyen ve prodüktör. Brooklyn, New York'ta dünyaya gelen sanatçı kilisede şarkı söyleyerek müziğe başladı. 1990'lı yılların başında New York'taki kulüplerde sahne almaya başladı. Gördüğü ilgi sayesinde 1994'te Columbia Records ile plak anlaşması yaptı. Leon Ware ve Wah Wah Watson gibi isimlerle çalıştığı ilk albümü Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite (1996) çıktığı dönemde dikkat çekmese de, "...Til the Cops Come Knockin'" ve "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)" gibi single'lar sayesinde bir yıllık sürede bir milyon satmayı başardı. Albüm Grammy'ye aday gösterilirken Maxwell; Erykah Badu ve D'Angelo gibi sanatçılarla birlikte neo soul türünün öncü isimlerinden biri ve bir seks sembolü olarak anılmaya başladı.
Maxwell, ikinci stüdyo albümü Embrya'yı 1998 yılında yayınladı. İlk albümdeki romantik sözlerin yerini alan mistik tarz eleştirilerin hedefi oldu. Maxwell, 2010 Grammy Ödülleri'nde aday gösterildiği altı dalda ödülden ikisini kazandı. Müziğe bir kez daha ara veren sanatçı, beşinci albümü blackSUMMERS'night'ı Temmuz 2016'da yayınladı.
